Senior Aviators Switzerland's 2026 Fall Outing, rescheduled for October 3, 2026

The fall field trip originally scheduled for September 25–26 to the Limmern pumped-storage plant in the Glarus region must be canceled for operational reasons and postponed to a later year.

To that end, we’d like to invite you to a fantastic anniversary event on October 3, 2026, organized jointly by the Aero-Club of Switzerland, the Lake Lucerne Shipping Company (SGV AG), and Senior Aviators Switzerland (SAS). Attending is a matter of honor for SAS members.

On Saturday, October 3, there will therefore be a special cruise aboard the historic steamship „Uri“ to celebrate our fall outing and the AeCS anniversary with a special cruise on Lake Lucerne.

When the steamship Uri began service on May 4, 1901, the AeCS was just one month old. Today, the steamship Uri is the oldest—and, for many steamship enthusiasts, the most popular—vessel on Lake Lucerne, and, like the AeCS, it is 125 years old. Just a few years after the paddle steamer’s maiden voyage, the city of Lucerne even acquired its own airship, the «Ville de Lucerne.».

The plan is for the «Uri» to depart from Pier 6 in Lucerne at 5:30 p.m. and head to the Lido/Museum of Transport, where visitors to the Air and Space Days can also board. Weather permitting, the AeCS Anniversary Balloon are used.

This is followed by a cruise on Lake Lucerne featuring a delicious three-course meal. At 8:00 p.m., after a stop at the Swiss Museum of Transport, the Uri docks again at the Lucerne train station.

The cost of the cruise and dinner is 99 francs; a maximum of 150 passengers may attend the event. On behalf of the SAS Board, we look forward to welcoming as many members of Senior Aviators Switzerland as possible aboard for this special event.

Members of Senior Aviators Switzerland who have already registered based on the article and the announcement in Issue 3/26 of Aero-Revue must not Sign in again.

During the registration process and after paying for the ticket online with a credit card, Twint, or Postcard, the ticket/voucher will be made available on the SGV website as a PDF file for download and as a print-at-home option for the registered participants. Don’t forget to bring the printed ticket(s) with you to the event on October 3, 2026.
